John Donnelly and Yann Therrien, well known in the Montreal music scene for their work in Lay Waste and Harriers, have landed themselves on the same label as Earth Crisis. Hopeless Youth have signed a deal with Candlelight Records on the strength of their 2012 debut EP.

We spoke to John about the signing:

We are more than excited to announce that we have signed to Candlelight Records. Candlelight is an amazing label because they work hard for their bands, and they really believe in what we are doing. To be on a label that hosts bands that we all grew up listening to like Earth Crisis, Orange Goblin, Corrosion of Conformity, Emperor, is still unreal and can’t be put into words. With such a well respected label behind us, we will be able to reach out to a worldwide audience. They are the right label to push us to the next level.

We would like to thank Straight Edge Worldwide for all the support they have given us since day one, it’s much appreciated.

The new Hopeless Youth album Disgust has already been recorded and will be released worldwide February 25th. In the meantime, check out the debut single Ghost, new video coming soon:
