Toronto’s RANSOM have confirmed their dedication to releasing the heaviest hardcore possible with the release of a brand new EP. The record, entitled Drowning, delivers six tracks of punishing beatdown and is the first release since solidifying their new line-up. Listen to the new record below.
From the official press release:
After a demo release in March 2014, Founding members of RANSOM, James Watkins and Kevin Montgomery spent the next few months looking to fill out a permanent roster. In the fall of that year they were put in contact with a drummer and a bass player solidifying the line-up. Eager to deliver a punishing live show they immediately began playing all over Southern Ontario and started writing a new record. A few months later and it is finally ready. Six songs of beatdown hardcore in the vein of Built Upon Frustration and Stigmata. Check out the EP below and get your ice packs ready for September when Ransom heads to Gatineau for Heartfest.
Drowing was recorded and mixed by Davis Maxwell, and mastered by Francois Allair. Catch the band on Day 3 of Heartfest 9 this September 6th with All Out War, Malfunction, Homewrecker, Discourse, and Get The Shot.
