Colin Young, Twitching Tongues frontman, God's Hate drummer, and host of the Hardlore podcast, has announced that he is launching a new Straight Edge record label. The new label, Plan X, will focus on releasing Straight Edge hardcore by new and unsigned bands. The first release from the label is the new Alive EP, 'The Truth I Know'. Alive is a new Straight Edge supergroup formed by members of Stick To Your Guns, including Josh James (of Casey Jones), Chris Rawson, and Adam Galindo.
From the label:
Introducing PLAN X RECORDS, a new home for straight edge hardcore music.
PX001 releases tonight at Midnight, on Edge Day, from a brand new band: [Alive].
I have been straight edge since I was 14 years old, and I’ve never thought twice, looked back, OR thought myself above or better than anyone.
But what I do know is that in a world that teaches us to numb ourselves, straight edge taught me how to feel. In a culture that profits from our continuous destruction, it can be the ultimate weapon… Against apathy, against excess, and most importantly, against the slow surrender of the self.
I have never understood the notion that we must poison our minds to escape our reality, we need only the strength to change it. There’s always a better way.
