Johnny Crowder's Cope Notes has announced a partnership to provide the mental health services to UnitedHealthcare and Optum recipients. The partnership includes a 5-year plan to expand delivery of Cope Notes mental health support services throughout major Florida population centers like Tampa, Lakeland, Ocala, Jacksonville, and Miami.

Cope Notes is a mental health services provided founded in 2018 by Johnny Crowder, frontman of the band Prison, and previously of Dark Sermon. Crowder developed Cope Notes as a text-message based mental health support service, specifically designed to be able to reach recipients without continuous access without smartphones, broadband internet, transportation, or other barriers to mental health support services. The daily messaging programs are developed by a team of mental health professionals, and use psychology, and neuroscience to ensure positive outcomes for its users.

We spoke to Crowder about what this partnership means to him:

I think a lot of metal and hardcore kids grow up wanting the world to be different, so it feels amazing to finally have a chance to make the world meaningfully different for people just like me all over the world, and right here in my home state.

Cope Notes originally began working with UnitedHealthcare in 2023 as part of a pilot program targeted towards teens, pregnant and new moths, and low-income households. With the new 5-year expansion plan, Cope Notes is positioned to assist UnitedHealthcare and Optum in supporting the federal government's Rural Health Transformation Program, a program led by Medicare and Medicaid to provide health support services, including mental health support services, to traditional hard-to-reach recipients.

To date, Cope Notes has delivered mental health support services to over 45,000 people in over 100 countries. For more info about Cope Notes, visit https://copenotes.com/
