Collin Major is set to star in the low-budget feature BUZZKILL. The movie was conceived as a slasher film, with a twist: the slasher character played by Major will also be the hero, saving the city from a drug-dealing gang of homicidal maniacs. The film is being supported by Nick Mayor and Jen Lemasters of Bric-A-Brac Records and Collectibles. Watch the trailer below.

We spoke to writer / director Cyle Williamson about the upcoming feature:

Ten years ago I met one of my best friends while going to school for Special-Effects Makeup. His name is Collin Major, and he is straight edge. As we left class one day he told me of a movie idea he’d like to make, it was a “Straight Edge Revenge Story” in the style of late 80’s/early 90’s films (The Warriors/Robocop/Death Wish 3). I thought it was a great idea “What’s it about I asked?” He replied “The hero of the film would take out the bad guys/ drug dealers with a buzzsaw and it’s called..BUZZKILL” Immediately I could see the movie and I’ve always wanted to make it.

My friends really came out in full force to help me with this, Mr. Major plays the main character. I have two more friends that are straight edge and I consider them to be some of the best friends you could ever have, Nick Mayor and Jen Lemasters. They own an amazing record store in Chicago, IL called Bric-A-Brac Records and Collectibles. They have really encouraged and helped me with this as well as many other projects. With help from these great friends I shot a promotional trailer for the film to help give a sense of the world and the story. I did this mainly by myself as the writer/director/sfx artist/camera/soundtrack. Now that it’s finished my production team and I have launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for BUZZKILL on October 22nd, and are gearing up for a slew of nationwide trailer screenings over the next few months to help promote the project.

The BUZZKILL production team is looking to raise a minimum of $200,000 to make the movie. If you would like to contribute, check out the BUZZKILL IndieGoGo page for the full list of donation rewards.
