To mark the triumphant premiere of the new xxx All Ages xxx film, legendary Boston straight edge originators DYS have a bevy of new releases. First up, the band has released a music video for the song Sound of Our Town, shot throughout Boston. The single, which features Dickie Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, gives props to much of the talent that has come out of Beantown over the years.
Next up, the band has a re-recorded version of their seminal 1983 album Brotherhood available for download. Brotherhood 2012 is available for free with the purchase of any DYS item from the Bridge9 store.
The releases mark the world premiere of xxx All Ages xxx, a documentary about the Boston Hardcore scene screening as part of the Boston Independent Film Festival. DYS are interviewed and perform in the film.
From Jonathan Anastas:
“DYS would have never re-formed without the passion and involvement of the ‘All Ages’ team of Duane Lucia, Drew Stone and Katie Goldman, nor would we have been able to do it the first time around either. From offering one of the best original venues to play live to helping us get the “Brotherhood” record pressed to asking us to headline their Gallery East Reunion show in 2010, there would be no DYS as you know it without this team. Thus, giving back to our scene, our city and their movie was a natural.”
DYS are set to begin a run of European shows on Friday in Germany. Brotherhood 2012 is now streaming at Bridge9.com/DYS.
