Photographer and filmmaker James Yigitoz has released an official music video, the first for his band Jaded Voice. The video, for the song Black Hawk Down, is the first release off the band’s upcoming full length Wake/Exist.

We spoke to Yigitoz about directing the video, and the upcoming album:

Combining my love for hardcore and my passion for filmmaking with this video has been fulfilling to say the least. Straight Edge is a huge part of who I am, and having it shared with the [Straightedge Worldwide] community is an honor.

Black Hawk Down, lyrically and visually illustrates the damage one can cause without a weapon or firearm; the emotional trauma one can endure at times can be just as destructive.

My band-mate Phil Larochelle and I have been writing this record for the past 10 months, and I’m beyond proud to have the opportunity to show the world a taste of what Canadians can bring to the table.

Wake/Exist is expected to be available in the coming months through the band’s Bandcamp page.
