So this is a strange one, Rich Casey’s Rust Belt Barbering has had to delay their grand opening after six specially-customized vintage barbering chairs were severely damaged in transit. Casey had spent nearly $15,000 to have the chairs, originally used in the 1950’s, modernized for the new shop.
Although the chairs had been carefully covered and packed on specialized pallets in Texas prior to shipment, the chairs appear to have been unloaded, remounted on standard pallets, and poorly repacked prior to delivery at the Depew, NY shop location. The Rust Belt Barbering grand opening will now be delayed and the chairs left in limbo pending the result of an insurance investigation. Watch the full story below:
