Rutland Vermont straight edge band Get A Grip

Today we are featuring Green Peaks // Dark Valleys, the last EP by Rutland, VT straight edge band Get A Grip.  The record, originally released in 2014, deals with the heroin epidemic that has struck Rutland, and members of the band were featured in the Straight Out Of Rutland documentary on the subject. Listen to the record below.

We spoke to Nick about Get A Grip and Rutland:

Get A Grip is based out of Rutland Vermont, a place where very few bands are from and a place drug abuse and addiction has engulfed the whole city. In our music we openly vent about the problems our community has faced over the past five years with addiction.

We have also toured and played throughout the east coast the last five years, including playing shows with such bands as: Bad Religion, Penny Wise, Bane, Trial, and The Offspring. We also were one out of five bands to Represent the state of Vermont at South By South West last year at a Vermont showcase show.

The band is about to celebrate their five-year anniversary, and are currently in the studio working on a new record.
