Bangkok Straight Edge Monument X have reformed, and are back with their first EP since 2015. The Thai Straight Edge band have just released 'Dawn of Equality', and of course it's on Bangkok hardcore stalwarts Holding On Records. Listen to the new record below.

We spoke to the band about their reformation, and the new record:

We got back together in the beginning of April to pick up where we left off nearly 4 years ago. After recruiting new members Kyo (Vox) and Hardyouth (Bass) we immediately started working on new songs that would later take the shape of the EP “Dawn of Equality”. The EP combines a positive message with words to shout-along to, breakdowns to get you 2-stepping and the energy to send you diving off the stage. For this EP our youth crew influenced sound has also evolved to bring more aspects of 90’s straight edge bands such as the heavier playing style of Strife and the more introspective lyrics of bands such as Turning Point.

We’d like to thank everyone who supported us over the years along with all our new friends who just recently found out about us. Special thanks to Gap from Holding On Records for inviting us to share the stage here in Bangkok with some of our favourite bands like Envision, Destiny, Magnitude, Peach, Fiddlehead and Angel Du$t.

Bangkok Straight Edge still alive!

Speaking of Fiddlehead, catch the boys in Monument X playing Have Heart's 'Something More Than Ink' with original members Pat Flynn and Shawn Costa during the recent Fiddlehead Asia tour.
