Bangkok melodic Straight Edge band Annalynn have released a statement following revelations that their lead singer lied about having cancer. Since originally claiming to have been diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2024, lead singer Nathaphon “Bon” Jutathaveewan has been fundraising for his treatment, including fundraising concerts, merch offerings, and through the use of a GoFundMe.
However, on November 15th, Annalynn frontman Bon admitted that it had been a scam, part of a plot to repay debts, from "illegal loans and poor business decisions". On Friday, the band issued a statement condemning the frontman for the scam, and claiming no knowledge or participation in the activities. No statement has been made at this time regarding Bon's future as frontman of the band, or Annalynn's future as a band. In the meantime, however, the band has requested that anyone affected by the fraud contact them. Read the full statement below.
