At long last, the football will be laid to rest; Detroit’s xTYRANTx have announced their break up. Since their formation in 2003, xTYRANTx released albums through Seventh Dagger and Eulogy Recordings.

From the band:

After being a band for over 10 years, we have decided to call it a day. I can’t being to explain the opportunities that this band has brought us. We were able to tour the world, record the music we wrote and love, play in front of thousands of the best fans we could ask for, and so much more. Being hardcore/punk kids and being able to share the stage with some of our favorite bands has made us more happy and [greatful] than we can explain with words.

This band has always been a bunch of friends playing music and what we’ve been able to do with it far exceeded anyone’s expectations. For all the people that supported this band, you’re the reason we kept doing it as long as we did… thanks for all the memories guys.

The final xTYRANTx show will be a benefit for children with cancer and life threatening illness this Saturday May 17th, and features Walls of Jericho as the headliner. In the meantime, members of xTYRANTx have gone on to play in Smash Your Enemies and From Hell.
