Chained are a heavy hardcore band based out of North Carolina formed in 2019 and fronted by Phil Gibson of NC Straight Edge band XhonorX. Chained have released a new music video, for the song 'Mind Slip', directed by Gibson. Watch the new music video below.

We spoke to the Chained/XhonorX frontman about the new music video:

Every word I write, and sing directly correlates with a way I feel, or have felt. You never know when your words might resonate with someone else. Being an advocate for mental health has always been our goal. Mind Slip is a song about facing your mental health head on and how overwhelmingly daunting it can be. We’ve all been there before. In a place where you feel like you’re not doing enough with your life. Like you don’t quite fit into your own skin. A moment where you question your self worth, or even existence. This song faces all of these thoughts without hesitation. It’s important for people to know they’re not alone. People need to know they’re important, and that they’re loved. Everyone goes through moments of anxiety and depression. Never be afraid to express that. It’s okay, to not be okay.

Mind Slip is the second single off of Chained’s Cut Out the Stigma EP, set to release on 6/14/2024 through Upstate Records.

The Mind Slip music video was directed and filmed by Phillip Gibson and Jonathan Weaver. Video production by Phillip Gibson.
