Montreal’s ever-talented John Donnelly has been busy since leaving Hopeless Youth. Donnelly has recorded and released an EP with his new band Pluum, and it is excellent. The self-titled EP features three songs, and was recorded by long-time collaborator Frank Daniel Shooflar at his Bird Wazo Studio. Listen to the new EP below.
We spoke to John about his new band, and the EP:
Pluum is a new band from Montreal. We take influences from 90’s alt rock, screamo, and shoegaze.
We recorded with our buddy Frank from birdwazzo studios, we’ve worked with him a bunch in the past. He produced, mixed, and mastered the ep. We are excited to hit the road in support of this release. Pluum features members/ex members of In Beliefs, No Bones, and Lay Waste. John on guitars is Straight Edge and has been in other sxe bands such as Cold Snap, and xdeal with itx.
The self-titled EP is available now through the Pluum Bandcamp page, and tapes are forthcoming. The band will be on the road this September in support of the record. No label support has been announced at this time, but the band is accepting inquiries.
