New Jersey straight edge band Outlast XXX has thrown in the towel following a Memorial Day show in Wildwood, NJ. The band’s four-year career saw the release of two EPs and a US tour.
The band released a statement addressing the break up:
This band started with only a few goals: 1. Be a straight edge band. 2. Try and make an impact of some kind. We certainly achieved the first and who knows if we achieved the second, but we had a great time trying.
Several East coast tours, weekends, a US tour, and countless awesome shows later and I can honestly say that the most fun times I’ve ever had have been because of this band, and I think everyone in the band would agree. We’ve been able to travel the country, meet new people, play with awesome bands, and make a ton of friends so we feel incredibly honored to have been able to accomplish what little we might have done. We were never the coolest band or the hardest band and there have been people that have straight up hated us, but through it all, we’ve done our own thing and kept going. Now it’s time for us to focus on new bands and other aspects of life.
A sincere thank you to everyone that has booked us, put out a record for us, fed us, and given us a place to sleep. You’ve all helped push us and made it all worthwhile. Thank you.
