It's been a busy week for Alejandro Aranda. The artist known as Scarypoolparty announced a full US tour, to kick off this October, before news surfacing that Aranda had signed to Hollywood Records. He's ended the week with the release of a new music video, for the song Tonight. Watch the new music video below.
Aranda originally rose to attention as the result of an audition on season 17 of American Idol, wowing judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryant with his virtuoso musicianship, and smooth vocals. After a less than spectacular showing through the group rounds, Aranda emerged as an early frontrunner with his incredible cover arrangements and original songs. Aranda eventually fell to national voting, placing 2nd overall, and leaving him free to pursue a record contract as a free agent.
In interviews, Aranda had mentioned that he was inspired to pursue music seriously after being taken to a Backtrack show by his nephew, Los Angeles photographer Jordan "JordyxStrange" Sandoval.
Tonight is co-produced by Scarypoolparty and Twin Shadow. The video is directed by Bex Griffin with editing and color by Nika Kravitz. Photo Assistant on the video is Austin Calvello.
