By now you will have already heard the good news – Eighteen Visions are back! The legendary early-2000’s straight edge metalcore band disappeared in 2007 after the release of their major label debut, and an accompanying abandonment of their straight edge / metalcore roots.
Fast forward to 2017, and Eighteen Visions have returned with a fierce new record that sees the band returning to what they did best: straight edge metalcore! XVIII features the very best of the classic Eighteen Visions sounds, including James Hart‘s gnarly screams, tasteful use of his signature clean vocals, and epic breakdowns. This is a solid, heavy record from back to front. Special mention to new straight edge anthem Oath.
The record includes a tribute to former bass player MickDeth in the song and accompanying video for Live Again, MickDeth tragically passed away in 2013 from a congenital heart condition.
XVIII is available now through Rise Records. Listen to the full record below. What do you think of the record? A sorely missed return to form from a band that never achieved their full potential? Or something else?
